Thanks to a donation from a long time patron, the library administration team decided to improve the Children's area. The former children's library area was divided between two floors and was quite small and inadequate for the need it served. Located in the partial basement was an accessible area formerly used only for storage just waiting for a better use. Large windows opening into a landscaped light well allow a flow of natural light into the space eliminating the feel of a basement space. Serpentine shaped bookshelves send young children on an adventure, which ends at elevated reading nooks large enough for a parent to get lost in a book with their young children.
