This building, located at the gateway to The Old West End, a prominent historic district in Toledo, is an International style building, a rare local example of this important architectural influence. The refurbishing updated the building exterior and allowed it to stand comfortably among the neighboring Victorian style buildings. A new entrance canopy, which incorporated a brick tower element, replaced the deteriorating steel and concrete gullwing canopy. The remaining renovation was accomplished by replacing the deteriorated aluminum and glass curtain wall with a new glass curtain wall, taking advantage of today's energy efficient materials while maintaining the original fenestration pattern that highlighted the original International style.
