This station is a wood frame with brick veneer facility for a growing community service. When Fulton County expanded the EMS system to include Advanced Life Support on a 24/7 basis, York Township, as a local provider, was faced with the dilemma of how to house the newly staffed unit. The existing fire station, which lacked code compliant facilities, could not be renovated nor expanded due to physical and financial limitations. This new 3,000 sq. ft. facility was designed to house the current two-person crew and rig with living quarters and garage. Also, it is capable of comfortably housing a second crew and rig should the need arise. The township took advantage of the new construction and relocated the township's administrative offices in this building, providing a clerks office and trustees meeting room.
